Description
The Varec Series 3500B/3600B/3650B Vacuum or Pressure Relief Valves are weight-loaded vacuum breakers designed to protect atmospheric and low-pressure liquid storage vessels, vapor recovery systems, and process systems from excessive vacuum or overpressure conditions. These valves utilize weighted mechanisms proportional to the seat surface area to achieve the desired relief settings while ensuring superior seat tightness and minimal leakage.
The valves are available in various configurations to provide installation flexibility:
3500B Series: Designed for top-mounted installation on tanks.
3600B Series: Side-mounted for vacuum relief applications.
3650B Series: Designed for in-line vacuum or pressure relief with flanged intake and discharge connections.
3660B Series: Can be configured for either pressure (top-mounted) or vacuum (side-mounted) relief applications.
These relief valves feature an oversized port to maximize flow capacity while ensuring tight sealing with a replaceable PTFE ‘air cushion’ seating, minimizing leakage to 1 SCFH (0.03 Nm³/hr) or less at 90% of setpoint. A pallet drip ring and self-draining housing further protect the seating surface from condensate and freezing, making these valves suitable for all-weather operation, including non-frosting and ice-resistant environments.
Key Features
Flexible Installation: Multiple configurations for tank-top, side-mount, and in-line installations.
High Flow Capacity: Oversized port for maximum relief flow.
Superior Seat Tightness: Replaceable PTFE ‘air cushion’ seating reduces leakage to 1 SCFH or less at 90% of setpoint.
Durable & Resistant Design: Self-draining housing and pallet drip ring protect against condensate buildup and freezing.
Wide Material Options: Available in aluminum, carbon steel, and stainless steel, ensuring compatibility with various process conditions.
All-Weather Performance: Optional non-frosting and ice-resistant coatings for valve seats and guides.
Extended Service Configurations: Options available for high-temperature and chemical applications.
