Rosemount 214C Temperature Sensors
Product description
The Rosemount 214C Temperature Sensor is a robust, field-proven temperature sensing assembly designed for industrial process measurement and control. Built for accuracy, durability, and easy installation, the 214C combines a precision sensing element (RTD or thermocouple options), sturdy sheath materials, and flexible process connections so it can be deployed in oil & gas, petrochemical, power, water treatment, and general process industries. Its modular design supports a range of connection heads, transmitters, and mounting options, making the 214C a reliable choice for demanding temperature measurement applications.
Technical specification (typical / customizable)
Sensing element: Pt100 RTD (class A or DIN B) standard; optional Pt1000, thermocouple types J/K/T/N available on request.
Configuration: 2-, 3-, or 4-wire RTD; single- or dual-element options; single or multiple thermocouple legs.
Temperature range: typical RTD −200°C to +600°C (application- and sheath-dependent).
Accuracy: RTD tolerance to IEC/EN 60751 Class A (or better) typical; thermocouple tolerances per IEC 60584.
Sheath/materials: Stainless steel 316/316L standard; Inconel, Hastelloy, or other alloys available for corrosive or high-temperature service.
Sheath diameter: common sizes 3 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 9.5 mm; custom diameters available.
Process connections: threaded (1/2" BSP / NPT), flanged, welded or compression fittings; thermowell/Van Stone mounting options.
Immersion length: customizable — standard stocked lengths and cut-to-length options available.
Response time: depends on sheath diameter and element; specified in datasheet (typical τ63 values available on request).
Electrical connection / head: Terminal head (IP66/IP67) with removable cover; conduit entries and transmitter mounting options (HART/4–20 mA transmitter) supported.
Transmitter compatibility: Supports 2-wire and 4–20 mA transmitters (HART, FOUNDATION Fieldbus / other options via transmitter choice).
Ingress protection: IP66/IP67 typical for terminal head assemblies; higher ratings available with special housings.
Certification & standards: Designed to meet applicable IEC, NACE, and local industry standards; hazardous-area versions available (Ex approvals) depending on configuration.
Traceability & documentation: Supplied with material certificates, calibration certificates and dimensional drawings upon request.
Options: Dual-element for sensor redundancy, fast-response tip, interchangeable thermowell assemblies, spring-loaded tips, extended temperature transmitters, and custom tag/labeling.
