Product Description

The AW Pneumatic Actuator is a high-performance rotary pneumatic actuator designed for reliable valve automation in industrial control systems. Engineered for precise on/off and positioning control, it converts compressed air energy into rotary motion, making it ideal for actuating ball valves, butterfly valves, and plug valves.

Available in double-acting and single-acting (spring return) configurations, the AW actuator delivers stable torque output, fast response, and long service life, even in harsh environments. With rotation options of 90° or 180° and torque ranges from 30 to 300 Nm, it is widely used in oil & gas, chemical processing, water treatment, power generation, pulp & paper, and metallurgy.

Its robust double-cylinder, double-piston fork-drive design ensures smooth operation, high efficiency, and excellent durability for frequent cycling applications.

 

Working Principle

1. Actuation Method

  • Double-Acting (AWxx):
    Uses compressed air on both sides of the pistons to open and close the valve. Ideal for applications requiring stable positioning and continuous control.

  • Single-Acting / Spring Return (AWxxS):
    Uses compressed air in one direction, with springs providing automatic return to the fail-safe position (normally open or normally closed) when air supply is lost.

2. Motion Conversion
Linear piston movement is converted into rotary motion through an internal fork-drive mechanism, delivering consistent torque across the stroke—particularly suitable for large-diameter ball and butterfly valves.
